Tiara Catering - Opening Team

This project involves the complete IT setup for the upcoming launch of Tiara Catering, Tiara Group (New Site HQ) and three boutique stores (a chocolate shop, flower shop, and bakery). The scope of work encompasses designing and implementing a robust IT infrastructure to support operational and customer service needs. The setup includes a new POS system, Wi-Fi access points, IP telephony, security cameras, and networking systems tailored to each store's requirements.

As the sole IT manager, I was responsible for the entire project lifecycle, including:

Project Charter Development: Outlining project objectives, stakeholders, and high-level scope.
Scope and Planning: Defining deliverables and setting timelines to ensure seamless integration across stores.
Scheduling and Budgeting: Creating a detailed timeline, resource allocation, and budget forecasts to ensure on-time, cost-effective delivery.
Quality Assurance: Establishing quality standards and testing protocols to maintain system reliability and performance.
Communication and Stakeholder Management: Collaborating closely with the CEO, department heads, and stakeholders to align project goals with business objectives.
Risk Management: Identifying potential risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and ensuring the project’s resilience.
Project Outcome: With the project progressing toward completion, the new IT infrastructure will enable Tiara Catering and boutique stores to operate efficiently and provide an exceptional customer experience from day one. The groundwork for streamlined operations, secure connectivity, and responsive customer service has been laid, and I look forward to delivering the final project and celebrating the successful opening.

Tiara Catering - 15 PCs – IT Infrastructure Enhanced!

I am pleased to share the successful completion of a significant IT infrastructure upgrade project, which I independently managed and executed in my role as the IT Manager.

Project Highlights:

  • Scope: Deployment of 15 high-performance i7 mini PCs paired with 27-inch monitors to enhance the team’s operational efficiency.

  • Upgrades: Systems were upgraded to 16GB RAM, ensuring superior multitasking and performance capabilities.

  • Software Setup: Installed Windows 11 Pro and configured all essential utility software for seamless and efficient use.

  • Execution: From negotiating with vendors to secure maximum discounts to system upgrades and deployment, I handled every aspect of the project single-handedly.

Key Outcomes:

  • Cost Savings: Direct vendor negotiations resulted in significant budget optimization.

  • Enhanced Productivity: The upgraded systems are designed to support high-performance tasks, ensuring smoother workflows for the team.

  • Streamlined Operations: Comprehensive setup and software configuration allow immediate usability, maximizing efficiency from day one.

Intercontinental Durrat Al Riyadh - Pre-Opening Team

  1. Interal RMS System Optimization

    • Achievement: Realized cost savings of approximately 180,000 SAR.

    • Description: Configured the entire South Building and half of the North Building, totaling 134 rooms, for the Interal RMS system. This single-handed effort resulted in substantial cost savings for the organization.

  2. Advanced Network Infrastructure Management

    • Description: Managed an extensive network infrastructure comprising over 80 HP Layer 2 and Layer 3 network switches. Implemented advanced networking features, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, Port Security, ACL, SSH, NTP, SNMP, and FTP, ensuring the seamless operation of the network.

  3. Enhanced Network Security

    • Description: Installed and configured a robust Fortigate 100D firewall system with redundancy, enhancing network security and safeguarding critical data and operations.

  4. Wi-Fi Coverage Expansion

    • Description: Led the expansion of Wi-Fi coverage by adding 25 Aruba indoor access points and 20 outdoor access points, totaling over 300 access points. This comprehensive coverage spanned the entire 154,000-square-meter resort, significantly improving guest connectivity and satisfaction.

Park Inn by Radisson Hotels

  1. Cost-Saving ISP Deal

    • Achievement: Successfully negotiated and signed a highly competitive deal for a Fiber DIA 1:1 internet connection with a leading ISP in KSA.

    • Impact: Realized annual cost savings of 120,000 SAR for the organization.

  2. Network Infrastructure Enhancement

    • Achievement: Replaced all End-of-Life (EOL) access points with Cisco 9166 series, improving network reliability and performance.

    • Impact: Ensured a more robust and efficient network infrastructure to meet the organization's needs.

  3. Efficient HSIA Gateway Management

    • Achievement: Replaced the HSIA Gateway and secured an agreement with Hoistgroup.

    • Impact: Achieved approximately 12,000 SAR in annual cost savings while enhancing the reliability and functionality of the HSIA Gateway.

  4. POS System Upgrade

    • Achievement: Upgraded all Point of Sale (POS) systems from Micros 3700 to Micros Symphony.

    • Impact: Implemented a more advanced and efficient POS system, enhancing operational efficiency and customer service.

Park Inn by Radisson Hotels - Jubail Industrial City

Key Achievements at Park Inn by Radisson Hotels - Jubail Industrial City

  1. SAP Hana Migration

    • Achievement: Orchestrated the successful migration of Park Inn by Radisson Hotels - Jubail Industrial City, making it the 2nd hotel in Saudi Arabia to transition from the Opera system to the SAP Hana Platform.

    • Impact: Improved operational efficiency and data management, aligning the hotel with cutting-edge technology for enhanced performance.

  2. Micros POS System Upgrade

    • Achievement: Led the upgrade of the existing Micros Point of Sale (POS) systems to seamlessly integrate with SAP.

    • Impact: Ensured a streamlined and efficient POS system, enhancing operational processes and enabling smoother interactions with SAP for improved business management.

  1. HP Proliant Gen10 Server Implementation

    • Achievement: Successfully installed and configured HP Proliant Gen10 Server.

    • Impact: Enhanced server performance and reliability, contributing to the overall efficiency of IT operations.

  2. IT Security Policy Implementation

    • Achievement: Implemented comprehensive IT security policies and established an agreement with InfoSec to educate all employees about emerging cybersecurity threats. Conducted monthly phishing campaigns to raise awareness.

    • Impact: Strengthened the organization's cybersecurity posture and ensured that employees are well-informed and vigilant against evolving threats.

  3. Cisco Catalyst Switches Upgrade

    • Achievement: Replaced existing smart switches with Cisco Catalyst switches.

    • Impact: Improved network infrastructure and performance, ensuring a more reliable and efficient network for the organization.

  4. Sophos Firewall and Access Points Addition

    • Achievement: Successfully added Sophos Firewall and Access Points to the IT infrastructure.

    • Impact: Enhanced network security and connectivity, providing a more robust and secure IT environment for the organization.
